Self-Determinism?

What is “self-determinism? Does such a thing even exist? If so where can we find it?

Self-determinism is defined variously in the  as a philosophical, political and psychological theory that every present state or condition of the self is a result of previous states or conditions of the self. Also as a doctrine that the actions of a self, are determined by self. Or as the determination of one’s own fate or course of action without compulsion; free will. Or, the freedom to live as one chooses, or to act or decide without consulting another or others.

Also as a doctrine that the actions of a self, are determined by self. And that the determination of one’s own fate or course of action without compulsion is accomplished by one’s free will. It is the freedom to live as one chooses to act or decide without consulting another or others.

Former President Woodrow Wilson, said it this way:

“National aspirations must be respected; people may now be dominated and governed only by their own consent. Self-determination is not a mere phrase; it is an imperative principle of action. . . . ” – Woodrow Wilson, 1918

Simply, self-determinism is the freedom to live as you choose without external compulsion, combined with the willingness to be responsible for your actions or inactions.

The principles set forth by the founding fathers of the United States in 1776, support this concept of individual freedom, in direct contradiction and defiance of the policies held by other countries and states in the world at that time in history.

As such, America has become the only shining light of freedom on the planet. Free from the tyrannical, totalitarian and dictatorial regimes devoted to complete domination, command, and subjugation of all people.

To maintain such freedom requires constant alertness, awareness, and willingness to fight back by the people. Absent these qualities, freedom will cease to exist in this country and this planet.
