ON THE STREET

Hang on to your hat!

You’re in for some gemstones of wisdom and truth you’ve never seen before.

And if a change is antipathetic to your delicate senses, stop reading now, because you may never be the same again.

What does “ON THE STREET,  mean? I’m using it to mean stripping away the social veneer and being in direct contact with life instead of living an ivory-tower existence detached from reality.

In the words of Mr. Thoreau, it means: “to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life . . . and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

THREE ASSUMPTIONS:

  1. This writing assumes that you now have, or once had, at least a slight hint of common sense (meaning you can see things as they are and not just as you wish them to be).
  2. That you also have at least some willingness to WAKE UP  from this semi-hypnotic trance you’ve been living in and entertain the possibility that you can change your life in a manner to your liking. That you are unsatisfied with your life and WANT and even DEMAND A change!

For, until the seeds of awareness have been planted, change is unlikely if not impossible.

All of my writings concern real life in the trenches of existence; which can often be messy and confusing. My efforts are to cut through the bull and strip away the niceties of polite society so you can see what is going on, for real.

So, if you like my writings and want to comment, let me know. If my words make you uncomfortable, stir up feelings of indignation or inspire you to challenge your status quo of lethargy and apathy . . . keep it to yourself because I’m not interested.

Why don’t you read some fluff by someone else or sit on your overstuffed couch and watch more TV? This website is not for you; it is the real shyte as I see it; I take no prisoners, and I don’t pull my punches, My purpose revolves around cuttin’ through the bull and waking you up. If this isn’t what you want, you’re in the wrong place.

just cuttin’ thru the bull

By the way, I’m not interested in your opinions of how I write or the niceties of grammar or where I place my commas. If you can’t get the message of what I’m writing in spite of how it’s written, I can’t be bothered.

I have no political agenda. I’m a seeker of truth wherever it leads me. I’ve seen truth (rarely) and lies (mostly) alike fall on both sides of the political spectrum. I follow the path of truth, and I call it like I see it.

I could care less whether you agree with me or not,  and I’m not seeking anyone’s approval.

If you can’t handle the truth – why not just sit around a campfire and sing kum ba yah? Because it’s obvious that you’re just pretending that everything is fine.

But it ISN’T!

We’re living in a tough universe. It’s a universe of force, not reason. The social niceties make it seem mild, but it is not! This universe doesn’t care if you disagree with its laws. Violate them at your peril.

I write for people who want to find out more about what’s really going on with people, life, interpersonal relationships, groups, governments, finance, global changes, and anything else I feel like writing about. I also only write about what I’m interested in. I’m not trying to entertain you. My purpose is to wake you up.

If you can’t handle the truth, then just keep walking around in your somnambulant slumber, bumping into walls, identifying incorrect sources while pretending you know what’s really going on. What I’m trying to do is get you to WAKE UP!

If this is what you’re looking for, then you’re welcome to join me. But don’t come whining to me later if you don’t like what you see. And don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Increasing awareness and facing life head-on with your eyes open is uncomfortable until you get used to it.

SO WAKE UP AND GET USED TO IT!

My writings are intended to stimulate critical thought and awareness of the issues involved.

I make no guarantee of the accuracy of the writings beyond a common sense observation of the obvious, a willingness to experience life, and write about life the way I see it . . . on the street.

    Dan,
I love the site! Made me reread the monologue – pure genius.

I need to get through the rest of your items – Love the pirate piece. Unfortunately, we have a lot more of that ahead. God only knows what someone would get with the threat of a dirty bomb. Probably give them Michelle and the kids . . Terry Puterbaugh

    Dan,
I went to your website, “cuttingthruthebull.” Enjoyed it and I will be back. The site seems to ‘fit you like a Master’s Green Jacket!”

I know your intent is not to give one comfort at the site, BUT, I do find comfort in the challenges that you throw at me when I’m reading your writings.

I’ll get back to you with more reaction to your words.

I was just now googling around about this when I came upon your post. I’m only dropping by to say that I definitely enjoyed seeing this post, it is really well written. Are you going to blog more about this? It appears like there is more fodder here for later posts. – Susan Hawley

  4. You may all remember the book, Games People Play. I will always remember what an influence that had on me when I was younger, as I finally realized that “what I saw” was not “what I would get.” Since I had never played a role to trick others I couldn’t conceive that others would do that to me. The book allowed me to see subterfuge when it occurred, and set me up to seek honesty but to be wary —

  5. Love your site Daniel. Good work.

    • I sent you extended comment yesterday FYEO. You may not have fully digested it yet. It may have been more than you wanted — If you would like, I can post somethang a bit more “generic” on this site shortly.

      • I received your comment, as suspected, have not had time to digest fully. Just finished a 3 hour con-call with Zurich and am heading to another appointment shortly. (it’s all good)

Yes, Send me something “generic” and I’ll post it to this site. Your writing and viewpoint is always welcome!! D
